Steal From Work fait régulièrement revivre à travers des expositions d’art contemporain le commissariat désaffecté de Bridewell à Bristol. Le show « Justice », sous le commissariat de C215, présente les œuvres de C215, Bruno Leyval, Dan 23, Mc 1984 et Least Wanted. Ils vous donneront à voir des installations in situ dans les cellules ainsi qu’un accrochage de peintures, pochoirs, encres de chine, acryliques, aquarelles et photographies. Chacun a réfléchi intensément à ce que le lieu pouvait amener comme solution artistique. Ils se sont penchés sur les thèmes qui leur sont chers tels que le sort des cultures minoritaires, les droits de l’homme, l’incarcération, la justice.

Ils ont presque tous fait le chemin et seront donc présents le 3 avril prochain. En plus d’aller à la rencontre de ces artistes exceptionnels, vous pourrez avoir l’occasion d’acquérir deux livres récemment publiés : Stencil History X, ainsi que le magnifique ouvrage de Least Wanted édité chez Steidl, A Century of American Mugshots. Encore un plus : le lancement de la dernière sérigraphie de Bruno Leyval, Leonard Peltier – Ink Story.

Returning to their formative roots Steal from work invite you to join us in a revival of the now infamous old Bridewell police cells, hosting in unison with the Longarm Gallery, ‘JUSTICE’ a group show featuring an all star international cast, C215, DAN 23, LEAST WANTED, Bruno Leyval and MC1984.
Travelling to Bristol from France and New York this group are set to excite the senses of their audience with site specific installations, photographs, original pieces and a variable of associated mediums including 2 recently released books, least wanteds ‘least wanted’ a selection of over a centurys worth of mug shots and C215′s now infamous Stencil History X. Another point: the launching of a very new silkscreen by Bruno Leyval, Leonard Peltier – Ink Story.
All with a collective interest in the plights of minority cultures, human rights, freedom, homelessness and the vacuous subject of law and order, Justice will display the combined aesthetic of these interests placed within the oppressive environment of Bridewell police cells.
