Jana & Js aux Lezarts de la Bièvre, 2009

Jana und Js est un duo de pochoiristes franco-autrichien. Je dois avouer avoir un faible pour les couples d’artistes que je trouve attendrissants tout autant qu’efficaces. Les exemples des Alto*Contraste, Ananda Nahu et Izolag ou voire même les français Supakitch & Koralie sont édifiants ! Jana und Js vivent aujourd’hui entre Salzburg et Paris et cette année les Lezarts de la Bièvre, c’est eux ! L’association des Lezarts de la Bièvre a pour but de valoriser le patrimoine de la rivière souterraine de la Bièvre qui coule sous les 5e et 13e arrondissements. Pour la 9e année consécutive, de l’art urbain balise le parcours des ateliers portes ouvertes des artistes du quartier. Après Miss.Tic, Jérôme Mesnager, Mosko et Associés, Nemo, Speedy Graphito, Jef Aérosol, FKDL et Artiste-Ouvrier, c’est au tour de Jana und Js de partager avec le public leurs propositions artistiques. Et autant dire que ce n’est pas simple. Les peintures de 9 artistes différents coexistent sur les murs, tous les types d’interaction ont déjà été tentés, les meilleurs emplacements déjà pris, de nombreuses pièces sont abimées par le temps comme par le vandalisme, les tags se réfugiant aussi sur les peintures des Lézarts, à l’abri des services de nettoyage de la ville, etc. Cela commence donc à ressembler à un joyeux bordel !
Aujourd’hui Jana und Js en étaient à leur 14ème projet mural. Jana ayant dû repartir en Autriche, j’ai eu la chance de suivre Js et de participer à son action rue Gustave Geffroy. Et je l’en remercie ! Rendez-vous les 13 et 14 Juin au bar chez Fernando, en bas de la rue Mouffetard, pour une exposition de Jana und Js et une rencontre avec les artistes !

Jana und Js is a duo of Franco-Austrian stencilers. I must admit having a soft spot for couples of artists. I find them that as touching as efficient. The examples of Alto*Contraste, Ananda Nahua and Izolag or even the French Supakitch & Koralie are edifying! Jana und Js now live between Salzburg and Paris. This year they represent the Lézarts de la Bièvre! The association of the Lézarts de la Bièvre aims to develop the heritage of the underground river flowing under the 5th and 13th districts. For the 9th consecutive year, urban art stands along the way of open artists studios in the neighborhood. After Miss.Tic, Jérôme Mesnager, Mosko et Associés, Nemo, Speedy Graphito, Jef Aerosol, FKDL and Artiste-Ouvrier, it’s Jana und Js to share with the public their art proposals. And this is not simple. Paintings by 9 different artists coexist on the walls, all types of interaction have already been tried, the best locations are already taken, many pieces are damaged by time or vandalism (indeed tags come on paintings from the Lézarts because they remain protected from being cleaned by the Council), etc.. This begins to look like a great mess !
Today Jana und Js set about making their 14th mural project. Jana had to leave Austria, but I had the chance to follow Js and participate in his action rue Gustave Geffroy. And I thank him!
Don’t forget the appointment on 13th and 14th June at the bar Chez Fernando at the bottom of the rue Mouffetard, for an exhibition of Jana und Js and a meeting with the artists!
